Return to the glorious era of steam on the Chesapeake Bay when the waterways were the highways... When one "voyaged" to the big city of Baltimore or Norfolk on an overnight steamer. Those were the grand old days when the steamboat wharves of countless waterfront villages became the social and economic centers of their communities. The rhythm of the period was cadenced by the comings and goings of these magnificent vessels.
