Dip netting for crabs on the Chesapeake Bay

A long waterman glides silently across the calm shallows of this quiet creek as the morning fog slowly lifts. Perched on the bow of his wooden skiff, with net in hand, he searches for "Callinectes sapidus", the succulent Atlantic blue crab. Beyond in the mist can be seen the bow of a skipjack protruding from behind the shed.

This scene represents the vanishing way of life which is a recurring theme in the artist's work.
