Jeremy Houghton

Jeremy Houghton studied law prior to embarking on an art career. He joined the art world as head of art at the International School at Cape Town, South Africa and then on returning to his Cotswold Studio, as one of his generation’s most prolific and collectable artists.

Since 2005, when his full-time painting career began, there have been notable milestones and commissions; Jeremy was official artist for the 2007 London Fashion Week, officially painted HM The Queen in 2009, and has had solo exhibitions at some of the world’s premier galleries – The Saatchi Gallery in London, The Everard Read Gallery in Johannesburg, and the Visual Arts Gallery in Delhi. He was an official artists for the London 2012 Olympic Games and is currently Artist in Residence for HRH The Prince of Wales at Highgrove House in Gloucestershire, England.

Houghton’s work is an aesthetic study of relationships, creating works which embrace the pleasure of seeing. Tone and form are used to portray movement and space. Old photographic negatives provide the starting point for each piece of work.
