Bob Bevard

Maryland native Bob Bevard is a self-taught artist who enjoys the lessons learned with each painting he starts. Bob renders his images with great precision while working in oils, watercolors, graphite, and pen and ink. He started drawing and painting in the late 1980’s, and with the encouragement of his wife, Charlotte, decided to become a full time artist in 2002.

Bob travels widely to find wildlife subjects to study and paint, especially birds. Bob grew up exploring nature with his five brothers in the rural Maryland community of Ardmore. When researching in the field, Bob photographs and sketches to capture each subject’s personality and intensity with a liberal dose of Bob’s wry sense of humor. He hopes the stories his paintings tell will catch the viewer’s imagination. His Crab Antics series is a favorite at the Annapolis Marine Art Gallery.

A winner of multiple awards, Bob has exhibited his work in numerous regional shows along the East Coast, and his work is in many private collections.
