{"title":"Leonard Weaver","description":"\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eLEONARD GEORGE WEAVER (Dec. 21, 1915 – June 16, 1996) as born in Detroit Michigan.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003e He became a watercolor painter, naturalist, and hobbyist of the great outdoors in his retirement (1972 -1996).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003e“As uncovered records show, Leonard’s talent for art was always with him. Right after WWII, during the years before and after meeting my mom, numerous drawings, sketches, and chalks were found. Many were not signed or dated, but those that were showed a clear trail of his artistic exploration.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eHis friendship with Martin Frey and the exhibitions they organized became a significant part of his time in Germany. Despite the challenges, Leonard found personal fulfillment through his marriage to Edith Reiner, who remained his best friend and wife until his passing in 1996.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eUpon retiring from the government, Leonard dedicated himself to the study of watercolor. He spent days, weeks, and months perfecting his techniques. He realized he had what it took to paint and sell his art. Year after year, he participated in local art shows, and his paintings sold.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eHe developed his own style, with influences from Andrew Wyeth, Winslow Homer, and earlier influences from Rembrandt, Chagall, Cezanne, and Dufy. He was recognized and gave back by teaching at many clubs and associations in and around Laurel, Maryland, from 1979 until his passing.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eHe was also an avid fly fisherman during those years. Len and Edith never stopped. As the son of Len Weaver, I am now the only survivor who can certify that his works are one of a kind. My wife, Maria Angela, and I hold the entire collection now being offered for sale.
