A genuine 1856 chart of the upper Chesapeake was painstakingly hand-colored with pastels by the owner of the Gallery, and then high-resolution giclee prints of the chart were made. In the 19th century, chart making was an art, and this image is a testament to the cartographer's skill. These prints are unique to the Annapolis Marine Art Gallery, and are a work of art in themselves.

This monochrome chart of the immediate Annapolis area is well-known.
Extraordinarily detailed, the chart includes a guide to navigation featuring
the Maryland Statehouse and a certain poplar tree as a navigation landmark!
We have taken a high-definition giclee version of the chart and
made it come to life. In full color it assumes new interest and becomes a work of art.
